You're reading: US supplies Ukraine with 2,500 night vision devices

The U.S. government has transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine 2,500 night vision devices for a total of $5.8 million, which according to the calculations of the General Staff of the Armed Forces will allow equipping at least ten battalions.

“The technology of these devices will guarantee the security of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian people at night. The provided equipment and trainings help Ukraine better protect its borders,” U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch said at an arms transfer ceremony in Kyiv on February 14, the 112.ua TV channel said.

According to her, this equipment was provided to the Ukrainian side in accordance with the program of assistance to security in Ukraine, which is implemented with the support of the U.S. government.

In turn, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko, said that now at least ten battalions of the Armed Forces would be equipped with night vision devices.
