Vaccination of children against coronavirus has started in Chernivtsi region, five young Ukrainians aged 13 to 16 have already been vaccinated, the press service of the Chernivtsi regional state administration reported on August 3.

“In Chernivtsi region, five children have already been vaccinated against COVID-19. Two were vaccinated in Chernivtsi, two – in Hlyboka and one child – in Hertz. The immunized are from 13 to 16 years old,” the report said.

It says that the reasons why parents decide to vaccinate their children is the need for the child to go abroad or the presence of chronic diseases that can complicate the course of the coronavirus.

The regional state administration reminds that parents of children aged 12-15 or children aged 16-17 must consult a pediatrician or family doctor to get the vaccine.

As reported, in July, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine approved the recommendations of the National Technical Group of Experts on Immunoprophylaxis on the possibility of vaccinating children older than 12 years with Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech.
