Vinnytsia region and Kyiv are closest to the transition to the “red” epidemic danger zone, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said during a press briefing in Kyiv on March 16.

“Four regions are in the ‘red’ level of epidemic danger, namely, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, and Zhytomyr. The situation in Vinnytsia region and Kyiv is also quite tense, as they are closest to the transition to the ‘red’ level,” he said.

Besides, the minister said the incidence in Ukraine continues to rise.

“Over the last week, some 60,748 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, which is almost 6,000 more than the previous week. We performed 395,000 PCR and express tests. Last week, some 22,514 people were hospitalized, while about 21,000 hospitalizations were on the previous one,” Stepanov said.
