Acting Energy Minister Yuriy Vitrenko advocates reasonable restrictions on imports of electricity from Russia and Belarus.

“Restrictions on electricity imports should take into account the fact that our energy system is still integrated with the energy systems of Russia and Belarus, but reasonable import restrictions should be imposed right now,” Vitrenko said during a parliamentary meeting on Jan. 28, which considered the issue of his appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister, Energy Minister.

At the same time, Vitrenko said the strategic goal of Ukraine remains integration with the ENTSO-E European energy system.
