WASHINGTON – U.S. State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker said on August 6 that he was disappointed with new violations of the so-called “harvest” ceasefire in eastern Ukraine and the death of Ukrainian soldiers.

“Extremely disappointed with new ceasefire violations, leading to 4 Ukrainian soldiers killed by Russian led forces – especially at a time when the new Ukrainian President is making gestures for peace,” Volker said on Twitter on August 6.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s press service reported on August 6 that four soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been killed in an attack on Ukrainian positions in Donbas earlier on that day.
