If necessary, the United States is ready to join negotiations on the situation in Eastern Ukraine, U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker has stated.
He said if there is a need for a wider format, of course, they will join. At the same time, he said they fully support the Normandy format.
This way he commented on the proposal of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to include representatives of the United States and Britain in the Normandy group on negotiations, consisting of representatives of Ukraine, France, Germany, and Russia.
The problem of these meetings is not the format, but the political will of Russia to implement its obligations under the Minsk agreements, the U.S. special envoy said.
