You're reading: Vyshynsky not interested in swap

Kirill Vyshynsky, the head of RIA Novosti-Ukraine, suspected of treason in Ukraine, stressed that he is not interested in the issue of his exchange with the Russian side, but “he is interested in justice.”

“I am interested in justice, not in an exchange … The issue of exchange does not interest me personally,” he told reporters during a break in the session of the Criminal Court of Cassation on March 20.

Vyshinsky said, “Journalists are thrown into prison on absolutely preposterous charges.”

Speaking about his passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, the head of RIA Novosti-Ukraine noted that his spouse is a citizen of the Russian Federation and she lives in Moscow. “I would like to be able to live with her,” he explained.

At the beginning of the meeting, the judges allowed Vyshynsky to participate in the meeting of the Supreme Court not in a glass box, but near his lawyers.

The lawyers argued their motion with the fact that Vyshynsky still does not have a sentence, and the defense wants to talk with him. Prosecutors did not object to the satisfaction of the motion, and the court granted the petition of the defense.
