Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and former Minister of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych have been notified of suspicion of seizing state power in Ukraine together with other persons through a constitutional coup in 2010, Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko has said.

“Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and former Minister of Justice Oleksandr Lavrynovych have been notified of suspicion under Article 109, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for committing in conjunction with other persons the seizure of state power, including by taking illegal measures, without the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. They amended the current Constitution of Ukraine by introducing the text of the Constitution of Ukraine in the Unified State Register of Regulatory Acts in the 1996 edition and its official publication,” the Prosecutor General wrote on his Facebook page on Sept. 6.
