Zelenskiy calls lawmakers to schedule his inauguration for May 19

Ukraine’s President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy has asked the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, to schedule his inauguration for May 19.

“I’m asking the Verkhovna Rada: you must set at the next meeting the inauguration date for May 19. It is not me who demand this, this is the demand of the people of Ukraine whose interests you have sworn to act in,” Zelenskiy said in a video address on Friday, May 10.
