Ukraine’s President-elect Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman had an informal meeting on April 24, spoke about the situation in the country and discussed general issues.

“Volodymyr Groysman arrived to get acquainted with Volodymyr Zelenskiy. General issues were discussed. The meeting was informal. They talked about life, about the situation in the country,” Zelenskiy’s press service told to Interfax-Ukraine.

Speaker and political strategist of Zelenskiy’s campaign headquarters Dmytro Razumkov told TV channel 112.Ukraine on April 26 evening that Zelenskiy had met with Groysman, but it was a meeting for them to get acquainted.

“Such a meeting did happen, according to my information. It was the day before yesterday, I think. Working moments or state policy was not discussed during the meeting. It was an introductory meeting of the incumbent head of government and the President-elect,” Razumkov said.

Answering a question whether Groysman and Zelenskiy had met before, he said: “I am not ready to answer.” “They may have seen each other, but in my opinion they haven’t communicated closely,” he added.

Later, the fact was confirmed by Groysman.

“We met, it was an informal meeting. We talked about life, about the country. We talked about the future of our state,” Groysman said on Inter TV on April 26 evening.

When asked whether the parties spoke about a new government and a possible reshuffle of some ministers, the prime minister replied that “if the newly elected president has plans [to reshuffle the government], he will tell the public about it on his own.”
