You're reading: Zelensky convenes urgent meeting on Donbas situation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is holding a meeting on the situation in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donbas.

The urgent meeting was convened on August 7 morning, the presidential press service told Interfax-Ukraine. The meeting involves General Staff Chief and Armed Forces Commander Ruslan Khomchak, President’s Deputy Chief of Staff Ruslan Ryaboshapka, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Danyliuk, and military intelligence officers.

Four Ukrainian soldiers were killed in an attack in Donbas on August 6, and Zelensky called for an urgent meeting of the Normandy Four leaders.

The Normandy format, which aims to settle the Donbas conflict, comprises Ukraine, Germany, France, and Russia.
