President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky counts on the U.S. assistance in the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas and de-occupation of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine within the Normandy format.

“I really would like the United States to help us in resolving the issue of a peaceful settlement in Donbas and the de-occupation of our territories. If the participants in the Normandy format are in favor, and Ukraine definitely supports, or if it will be in a different format, this is already a matter of negotiations with Merkel. I will also be at a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden and I will also raise this issue,” Zelensky said at a joint briefing with Merkel in Germany ahead of their tete-a-tete talks.
