You're reading: Zelensky creates Coordination Council for solving problems in urban planning

On September 29, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the creation of a Coordination Council for solving problematic issues in the field of urban planning as an advisory and consultative body under the President of Ukraine.

This body will be formed with the aim of creating appropriate conditions for the realization of the right of citizens to housing, developing effective mechanisms for protecting the rights of investors and developers of housing construction and other urban development facilities, the presidential website reported.

The main tasks of the Coordinating Council are: study of problematic issues arising in the implementation of the right of citizens to housing, ensuring the rights of investors and developers of housing construction and other urban development facilities, establishing the prerequisites for their emergence; system analysis of the practice of implementing state policy in the field of urban planning; monitoring the status of implementation of legislative acts in the field of urban planning; development of proposals to the President of Ukraine regarding the stimulation and development of investment activities in the field of urban planning; introduction of effective mechanisms to protect the rights of investors and developers of housing construction and other urban development facilities; solving problematic issues in the field of urban planning.

In order to fulfill the tasks assigned to it, the Coordination Council has the right in the prescribed manner: to receive the necessary information, documents and materials from state bodies and local self-government bodies, state enterprises, institutions, organizations; involve representatives of state bodies, as well as representatives of enterprises, institutions and organizations, public associations, and independent specialists to consider issues within its competence.

In the process of fulfilling the tasks assigned to it, the Coordination Council interacts with other subsidiary bodies and services formed by the President of Ukraine, as well as with state bodies, local governments, the All-Ukrainian Association of Local Self-Government Bodies, enterprises, institutions and organizations.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine must, within a month, make proposals on the composition of the Coordination Council for solving problematic issues in the field of urban planning.
