You're reading: Zelensky fires 7 heads of district administrations in Donetsk region

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree on dismissal of the heads of seven district state administrations in Donetsk region, including Boikivka, Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Nikolske, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Yasynuvata.

Relevant decrees Nos. 244/2019-rp–250/2019-rp dated August 12 were posted on the official website of the head of state. All seven heads of district administrations were dismissed with the justification “in connection with the expiration of the term of office of the president of Ukraine.”

The following officials were dismissed from their posts: heads of Boikivka District Administration Oleksandr Romaniuk (order No. 244/2019-rp), Dobropillia District Administration Dmytro Kirnosov (order No. 245/2019-rp), Kostiantynivka District Administration Natalia Vynnychenko (order No. 246/2019-rp), Nikolske District Administration Oleh Reshetniak (order No. 247/2019-rp), Pokrovsk District Administration Anatoliy Shyshko (order No. 248/2019-rp), Sloviansk District Administration Yevhen Danyliuk (order No. 249/2019-rp), and Yasynuvata District Administration Mykola Kovalenko (order No. 250/2019-rp).

Donetsk region includes 19 districts (of which 14 are in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government) and 28 cities of regional subordination (of which 15 are in the territory under control). The Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Yasynuvata, Maryinka and Volnovakha districts enter the line of demarcation with the uncontrolled territory.
