President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has become a head of the National Council for Anti-Corruption Policy, and Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak was appointed as its deputy head.

This is stipulated in the president’s decree dated June 1, 2020 amending the statute of the council approved on October 14, 2014, according to a statement on the president’s website.

Zelensky approved the membership of the National Council for Anti-Corruption Policy, which now includes Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Artem Sytnyk, Deputy Director of the State Bureau of Investigations Oleksandr Sokolov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danylov, Head of the State Tax Service Oleksiy Liubchenko, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, Deputy Heads of the Office of the President of Ukraine Roman Mashovets and Andriy Smyrnov, and others.

The following international observers and consultants will also join the work of the national council upon consent: Senior Public Sector Specialist at the World Bank David Bernstein, Foreign Service Officer at USAID Garth Willis, Capacity Development Expert at UNDP Ukraine Nazar Grom, anti-corruption expert at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Andriy Kukharuk, Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) in Ukraine Eka Tkeshelashvili, Head of the Support to Anti-Corruption Champion Institutions (SACCI) project in Ukraine Lawrence Held, Law Enforcement Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Stephanie Holmes.
