The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has decided to include another 12 people – the so-called “thieves-in-law” and “crime bosses” in the sanctions list, said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“A decision has been made to impose sanctions against another 12 persons who are in the status of a subject of increased criminal influence,” Zelensky wrote on the Telegram channel on June 18.

As reported, on May 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the NSDC was introducing personal sanctions against 557 thieves-in-law and 111 so-called “crime bosses”, while noting that most of the 557 are not in Ukraine. At the same time, according to the president, “the number of those who are at large in Ukraine has halved – from 34 to 17 people.”

On May 21, Zelensky signed a corresponding decree.

On June 18, at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, it was decided to conduct an additional check on three persons against whom sanctions were imposed, in connection with numerous appeals about the incorrectness of their inclusion in the sanctions list.
