Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he discussed the situation in Donbas and the return of Crimea with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I during their meeting in the Fener (Phanar) district of Istanbul.

“[We] talked about everything: about the situation in Ukraine, about the unification of Ukraine, about the war in Donbas, about the return of Crimea – about everything. Everything that everyone cares. I am glad that we have very powerful support here, not only at the political level,” Zelensky told TV Channel 1 + 1 on August 8 after the meeting in Istanbul.
