You're reading: Zelensky tells Ukraine: ‘We will withstand’ coronavirus

Editor’s Note: The following is an official English-language translation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address to the nation about the coronavirus pandemic. The nationally televised speech came as the government further tightened restrictions on movement. The new restrictions ban walks in public parks and other recreation areas and require people to wear masks in public. The president urged people to stay home as coronavirus infections are expected to peak in Ukraine by April 25. Likely, the travel and movement restrictions will last until mid-May.
