President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, during which they discussed current issues on the Ukraine-EU agenda, including agreed on the necessary allocation of the second tranche of macro-financial assistance of the European Union in the amount of 500 million euros.

Zelensky also suggested finding ways to sign the EU-Ukraine Common Aviation Area Agreement as soon as possible.

“The two paid special attention to the issue of ensuring uninterrupted gas transit through the gas pipelines of Ukraine and the prospects of concluding a new agreement with the Russian Federation. The parties agreed to continue the relevant work, in particular with the support of the new composition of the European Commission in trilateral format,” it says.

The Head of State informed the President of the European Commission of the results of the Normandy summit held in Paris on December 9, and stressed the importance of the Russian Federation’s implementation of the agreements reached.
