You're reading: Zelensky waites government structure concept from PM

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that it is necessary to split some ministries and instructed Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk to put forward proposals on the ministries, in particular the Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ministry, the Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry and the Ministry for Veterans’ Affairs, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons.

“Some of our ministries were merged. I think that it was a wrong decision from the very beginning. That is why we talked about lack of professional personnel. We also have a small budget. However, I think that time has showed that some of the ministries should be split,” the head of state said in a conversation with the prime minister, the video of which was made public by the Office of the President of Ukraine on Jan. 17.

Zelensky also said that there are questions for the Economic Development Ministry which is also in charge of agriculture.

“I think there should be a new concept and a new approach. Possibly, this also refers to the Culture Ministry and the Ministry for Veterans. I want to see all of your proposals,” he said.
