Russian state media on March 1 cited the country’s Defense Ministry saying Ukraine’s capital Kyiv will be struck by “high-precision” rockets. More available here.

Ukraine’s State Security Service (SBU), and the 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Operations in Kyiv will be struck, Kremlin-controlled news agencies reported.

They are targeted allegedly “to stop information attacks against Russia,” Russian Tass news agency said.

Meanwhile, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said the capital city of nearly 3 million is still in danger due to Russia’s unabated invasion launched on Feb. 24 , which Belarus enabled by allowing salvos of rockets and ground forces to encroach from its territory.

“The enemy wants to take the heart of our country. But we will fight and we will not give up Kyiv! The armed forces, terrorist defense, and concerned residents are ready and will defend the capital”, Klitschko said on the Telegram social media app.

He also praised the resistance shown by residents in the surrounding suburbs of Hostomel, Bucha, Vorzel, Irpin and Vasylkiv.

Klitschko thanked the Armed Forces for “heroically’ defending the country so that the “Russian horde does not break through to Kyiv.”
