You're reading: Ukraine Military Implores Nation to Put Up ‘Popular Resistance’ to Invading Russians

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have said on Facebook that “now” is the time for all segments of society in Ukraine to resist the invading Russian forces. “Now is the time for Ukrainians to put up total popular resistance!” the social media post said. “A section of our territory is temporarily occupied by the Russian invader.”

The plea for open rebellion in the face of Russia’s fuller-scale invasion, which began on Feb. 24, offered advice to the nation.

“If a tank battalion of 30 tanks attacks the positions of the armed forces and loses 5-6 tanks, it loses combat capability,” the post read.

The opposite was said about logistics by “destroying” rear columns carrying ammunition, fuel, spare parts to render the battalion “completely incapable.” The post noted that enemy rearguards “are not armored” and guarded by troops with little to no combat experience “and are easy targets.”

Simple examples offered was the felling “of trees” to later burn at the opportune time “to destroy the column and take prisoners.”

The post suggests cutting off the “rear supply” so that Ukraine could “end the war in a few days.”
