You're reading: Daily number of COVID-19 cases up almost 6 times in Azerbaijan as testing expands

BAKU – Another 326 patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Azerbaijan in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases to 229,358, the Azerbaijani operative headquarters said on Jan. 26.

Azerbaijan reported 57 contagions the day before.

According to the headquarters, seven more patients died over the past day, and the overall coronavirus mortality rate climbed to 3,100 in Azerbaijan.

The recovery rate has reached 221,116 (+551 in the past 24 hours).

Currently, 5,142 persons are either receiving therapy or are quarantined, the headquarters said.

Azerbaijan performed 7,807 COVID-19 diagnostic tests in the past 24 hours (3,257 the day before), bringing the overall number of tests to 2,372,616.
