Kazakhstan is in talks to expand exports to Europe, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Vasilenko said.
“The Kazakh-EU cooperation committee is discussing trade opportunities for diversifying and expanding our exports and exports to Europe,” Vasilenko told journalists in Astana on March 28.
“The EU is the leading trade and investment partner of Kazakhstan, which accounts for about 50 percent of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover and more than half of investments,” he said.
“The lion’s share consists of oil and oil products exported to EU countries,” he said
The committee also raised the issue of diversifying European investments.
“They are somewhat lopsided, since the lion’s share of European investments goes to the mining and oil industry,” he added.
