Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed readiness for a dialogue with NATO on the basis of the principles of parity and transparency.

“As a sovereign state, Belarus is ready for a constructive dialogue, including with the North Atlantic Bloc on the basis of the principles of parity and transparency. We’re not building any fences between us and anyone else. We are ready to engage in this dialogue,” the state news agency BelTA cited Lukashenko as saying at the Military Academy in Minsk on Feb. 22.

At the same time, “Belarus has its interests and both its partners and those who want to cooperate with the country must respect them,” Lukashenko said.
