You're reading: Number of COVID-19 cases in Belarus exceeds 35,000

MINSK – A total of 35,244 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Belarus as of May 23, the country’s Health Ministry said.

A total of 941 new cases were recorded over the past 24 hours.

“A total of 194 patients with a number of chronic illnesses and a positive coronavirus test have died in the entire period of the disease spread in the country (190 as of May 22),” the ministry said.

As of May 23, 13,528 patients who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 recovered and were discharged (12,833 as of May 22), it said.

Additionally, a total of 434,618 coronavirus tests were conducted, the ministry said.
