Head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Volodymyr Ariev of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction has said that PACE President Pedro Agramunt will make a statement on April 28, regarding his status following his infamous visit to Syria.

“PACE President Agramunt said that he will make a statement on April 28 concerning his status after his visit to [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, recognizing that they were used by the Russians who manipulated them and acknowledged that this visit caused great damage to PACE,” he wrote on his Page in Facebook.

First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko surmised Agramunt may announce his intention to resign. “Agramunt not very subtly hints at his resignation on April 28, after the end of this session,” the lawmaker said on her Facebook page.

As reported, Ukraine’s delegation in PACE demands starting the impeachment process against PACE President Pedro Agramunt, who visited Syria as the head of a delegation.
