RFE/RL: Belarusian opposition leader Nyaklyaeu detained ahead of protest rally

Belarusian opposition leader and former presidential candidate Uladzimer Nyaklyaeu has been detained ahead of a planned antigovernment rally on March 25.

Police also raided the office of the Belarusian human rights group Vyasna (Spring) in Minsk on March 25 and arrested 57 people, including the group’s staff and visitors.
