You're reading: Wall Street Journal: US urges UN to reprimand China and Russia for selling oil products to North Korea

The Trump administration asked a United Nations panel this week to reprimand China and Russia over allegations that they sold refined petroleum products to North Korea in violation of the international body’s sanctions against Pyongyang, according to people familiar with the matter.

Chinese and Russian firms continue to help the pariah nation import oil products in excess of U.N.-mandated caps, including through previously sanctioned tankers, according to a declassified intelligence briefing prepared for the U.N.’s committee on North Korea sanctions and reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
