Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR) said its “Prymary” (Ghosts) special forces unit carried out a series of strikes on Russian military trains in occupied Crimea, releasing video footage of the operation on Wednesday, May 6.
According to HUR, the operation took place in April 2026 and targeted railway logistics used by Russian forces on the peninsula.
Ukrainian special forces conducted five precision strikes, hitting locomotives while they were moving. The trains were reportedly transporting military equipment and fuel, including tanker cars.
The agency said the attacks set fire to key railway assets and disrupted Russian military logistics in Crimea.
HUR described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to degrade and complicate Russian supply lines supporting its war against Ukraine.
The agency’s April attacks formed part of Kyiv’s campaign against occupied Crimea.
On April 28, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SSO) said that its drone units struck a Russian Iskander missile base in occupied Crimea overnight. According to the SSO, the target was a concealed storage site for operational-tactical missile systems located at a former missile base near the settlement of Ovrazhky, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of Simferopol.
On April 21-22, the Ukrainian military also struck a Russian naval command and traffic control center in occupied Crimea, along with multiple military targets across Russia and occupied territories. One of the key targets was the Streletsky command center of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.
