Operators from a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) unit eliminated a Russian assault group during a mission deep behind enemy lines.
According to a report shared on Telegram, the SSO team was conducting special reconnaissance beyond the front line when they detected the movement of a squad of Russian stormtroopers.
The group commander quickly assessed the situation and organized a tactical response. After repositioning to gain the advantage, the Ukrainian operators launched a surprise attack. In the brief firefight that followed, all eight Russian soldiers were killed.
“The SSO eliminated the Russian assault group behind enemy lines (uncensored video),” read the caption accompanying the released footage.

Kyiv Post was unable to independently verify the time and location of the video. The footage, apparently taken from chest-mounted cameras, shows the initial exchange of fire, followed by the resulting close combat. Later scenes show the SSO troops inspecting the bodies of the eight Russians.
The report stated that after searching the enemy’s bodies, the SSO team resumed reconnaissance operations in the area without suffering any losses. “Always beyond the border!” the message concluded.
In late April, Ukraine’s SSO reported that a platoon of North Korean (DPRK) soldiers was eliminated in a similar encounter during an operation in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
According to the report, 25 DPRK troops were killed during a rapid engagement with the Ukrainian forces.
The SSO said that eight of its operators, riding in an armored Humvee and supported by reconnaissance drones, advanced deep behind Russian lines. Once in position, they occupied trenches and opened fire on a DPRK unit roughly three times their size.
Despite being outnumbered and under heavy artillery fire, the SSO said its soldiers demonstrated that training and skill could overcome superior numbers. According to the statement, the entire DPRK platoon was wiped out in the clash.
After completing their mission, the Ukrainian operators successfully withdrew from the area.
