145 Ukrainians Evacuated from Gaza Strip Arrive in Moldova

After arriving at Chisinau's airport, one Ukrainian woman with cancer was immediately brought to the Ukrainian border to be transported by ambulance to Odesa, the HUR wrote.

On Saturday, 145 Ukrainians, mostly families, that had been evacuated from the Gaza Strip arrived at Chisinau International Airport in Moldova.

Israel has been heavily bombing the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, following an invasion of southern Israel by Hamas-led Palestinian militants.

Along with its own citizens, Ukraine was able to evacuate nine Moldovan citizens and one Palestinian from the Gaza Strip, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR) posted on Telegram.

Upon arrival, one Ukrainian woman with cancer was immediately brought to Ukraine.

“She was immediately transported by ambulance to one of the checkpoints with Ukraine, where she was met by a team of our doctors and taken to a hospital in Odesa,” the HUR wrote.

Families with children were among the evacuees.

Moldovan diplomate Nika Popescu thanked Kyiv for its help in evacuating Moldovan citizens.
