A Russian drone strike on Nov. 30 in Vyshhorod, a city just north of Kyiv, killed an employee of the Ukrainian defense firm Fire Point and wounded his family.
Fire Point produces drones and missiles, including the Flamingo long-range missile.
Denys Shtilierman, co-owner and chief designer of Fire Point, confirmed the death on X, saying the victim’s family is hospitalized and remains in critical condition.
Shtilierman added that Ukraine does not strike Russian residential buildings in retaliation for daily attacks on Ukrainian cities, despite knowing “where many of our enemies live together with their families.”
“Ukraine must destroy the Russian empire at its root,” he added.
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (OVA), said in a Nov. 30 Telegram update that 11 adults and two children injured in the attack were hospitalized in Vyshhorod.
“All are under medical supervision. Their conditions vary. The first discharges are expected on Monday. Another woman, born in 1990, who sought help on her own, has also been added to the list of injured,” he wrote.
Kalashnyk added that emergency crews continued working at the heavily damaged multi-story building, clearing out burned apartments.
“Heating and electricity have been restored to the unaffected sections. Broken windows are being covered with film and OSB boards. The first residents temporarily left without housing have already moved into a hotel,” he said.
On Sunday, Nov. 30, Russian forces struck residential and industrial areas in Vyshhorod, destroying buildings, sparking fires, and leaving one person dead and several injured.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) reported that a high-rise caught fire, with flames spreading from the 1st to the 6th floors of a nine-story building.
Private homes were also damaged or destroyed, and parked cars were burned.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram that 19 people had been injured in Russia’s Sunday attacks.
“It is known that there are victims: 19 people were injured, including children. One person was killed by this attack. My condolences to his family and friends,” he wrote.
Zelensky added that there were wounded in the Dnipro and Kharkiv regions, and that Russia had also launched attacks on the Odesa, Sumy, and Kherson regions.
“Such strikes occur every day. During this week alone, the Russians used almost 1,400 strike drones, 1,100 guided aerial bombs, and 66 missiles against our people,” he said.
Zelensky appealed for more missiles, air-defense systems, and broader allied support to achieve what he called “real, reliable solutions” to end the war.
