Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with a missile early on Friday morning, March 27. The missile hit an apartment building, leaving several people injured.
“A missile strike in the Kyiv district has been recorded; there are injuries. We are clarifying the details,” Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said in a Telegram post at 00:42 a.m.
Shortly afterward, Terekhov added that the missile struck an apartment building.
The mayor also reported that, in addition to the missile attack, a drone strike was recorded in the same Kyiv district.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS) later said that eight people were injured as a result of the strike. However, rescuers specifically referred to a drone impact in their statement, with no mention of the missile.
“Russia attacked Kharkiv again at night. One of the strikes hit a nine-story residential building. As a result, internal structures and the balcony of a top-floor apartment were partially destroyed,” the DSNS wrote.
According to the Air Force, since 6 p.m. on March 26, Russia launched 102 attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas drones, as well as other types. Around 60 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Preliminary data as of 08:30 a.m. Friday indicates that 93 Russian drones were shot down or suppressed across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.
Nine strike UAVs hit eight locations, while debris from downed drones fell in four additional areas.
