Deadly overnight Odesa attacks are Russia’s revenge for Zmiyny Island

Terror is the main tactic being used by Russia. An attack on the village of Serhiyivka in the Bilhorod Dniester District of Odesa saw three rockets hit a nine-storey building and a recreation center. At least 19 people were killed, including two children and 30 were wounded.

The outer wall of the residential building and floors 1-9 were destroyed. Two floors of the residential building at the recreation center were also damaged. Rescuers and emergency services are continuing their work.

Russia armed forces left Ukraine’s Zmiyny Island on June 30 as a result of Ukrainian air strikes. The island, located in the Black Sea, is of strategic importance and was occupied by Russia since the first days of its invasion.
