The study says that in the A and B class segment, the Hyundai Accent was the leader in sales with 6,988 cars sold, in the C class segment – the Skoda Octavia A5, while the Toyota Camry was the leader in the D class segment (2,885 cars) and the BMW 5 Series topped the E class segment with 573 cars sold.

According to the rating, the leader of sales in the luxury class was the Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse with 247 cars sold in 2012, in the crossover segment – the Kia Sportage with 3,336 cars, in the SUV class – the Volkswagen Touareg with 1,678 cars sold, in the mini-van class – the Peugeot 3008 with 502 cars sold, in the pickup class – the Mitsubishi L200 (226), in the station car class – the FIAT Doblo (2,540) and in the coupe and cabriolet class – the KIA Cerato Koup (371).

On Monday, the results of Automobile 2012 Award were presented. A total of 63 candidates took part in the competition (72 in 2011). With 25,000 votes accepted (40% more than in 2011), the KIA Optima won the prize (in 2011 Toyota Camry).

As reported, in 2012, sales of new passenger cars in Ukraine fell by 1.4% on 2011, to 217,580, and January 2013 showed a 17.5% fall in sales on January 2012. This year experts mainly predict that the Ukrainian automobile market will fall or be in stagnation, taking into account the fact that there are no factors stimulating its growth.
