Interpol has refused to issue an international arrest warrant for Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff chief Viktor Muzhenko by request of the Russian Federation, Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Ukraine Vasyl Nevolya has said.

“The answer was the same … [Interpol’s refusal to put Muzhenko on the international wanted list],” Nevolya said during the hotline conversation at the ‘Komsomolska Pravda in Ukraine’ in Kyiv on Jan. 20.

At the same time he pointed out that earlier Russia was denied to issue an international arrest warrant against Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

As reported, the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak and Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko for “the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare” in Donbas.
