Why Russia Scaled Down the Victory Day Parade

Another day, another broken truce – despite agreeing to Trump’s ceasefire proposal earlier on, Russia again killed civilians in Ukraine in the latest wave of attacks.

The idea of a temporary ceasefire was suggested just as the Moscow regime scaled back its annual military parade due to fears that Ukrainian long-range strikes would provide a humiliating backdrop to the festivities.

Yet, despite the fact that Ukraine has recently extended its reach and regained the initiative, Putin has made optimistic comments about the war coming to a close.
