Russian forces  attacked the city of Sumy with drones late on Wednesdayt, killing a 56-year-old man and setting fire to a home and a gas station, local officials said.

Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, said a drone of an unidentified type struck a private residential area in the city’s Kovpakivskyi district.

“After a UAV strike of an unidentified type on a private residential area in Sumy’s Kovpakivskyi district, the body of a 56-year-old local resident was found on the territory of a household,” Kryvosheienko said.

He added that the circumstances of the man’s death were still being established.

According to Kryvosheienko, the strike with ignition was recorded late in the evening. Another Russian attack targeted a gas station.

Fires broke out at both locations but were later extinguished, officials said. Authorities are still working to determine the full consequences of the Russian drone attack
