Explosions were reported across occupied Crimea in the early hours of Saturday, with local residents and monitoring channels saying drones may have struck the Tavriyska Thermal Power Plant near Simferopol.
According to the Crimean Wind monitoring channel, a fire broke out in the area of the power plant following the reported strikes, with black smoke visible nearby.

Explosions and Russian air defense activity were also reported in several areas of occupied Simferopol and in Perevalne.
Occupation authorities on the peninsula had not commented on the incidents at the time of publication.
The reported attack came amid a wider uptick in drone activity targeting Russian and Russian-occupied territory. On Friday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that Russian air defenses had downed 25 drones heading toward the Russian capital.
In Crimea, occupation authorities have also imposed new restrictions on movement by motorcycles and other motorized two-wheel transport during evening and nighttime hours from June 17.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has predicted that the temporarily occupied peninsula could soon become increasingly isolated due to Ukrainian drone strikes, Ukrainska Pravda reported.
