Ukrainians in 2018 were most interested in the football World Cup, third season of Mazhor TV series and the Eurovision 2018 song contest, Google Ukraine has reported, referring to the top Google searches in 2018.
Person of the year, according to the search engine, is Ukrainian actress who passed away this year, director, producer, comedian, teacher Maryna Poplavska, while Russian singer and songwriter Yegor Kreed ranked second, and Russian pop singer, political and public figure Joseph Kobzon who passed away in August is third.
The top 10 people also included: trance star Ziandzha (Boris Aprel); rapper Xxxtentacion; English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, writer, director of research at the Center for Theoretical Cosmology of University of Cambridge, Stephen Hawking; Duchess of Sussex – the wife of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, former American actress and model Meghan Markle; and Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
In the category Film of the Year, Venom won first place, in the second and third places – the cartoon Monsters on Vacation 3 and 50 Shades of Freedom. The top ten most sought-after films also include Avengers: War of Infinity and Deadpool 2.
The TV show of the year was Eurovision-2018, in the second and third places – Bachelor Season 8 and Holos Krainy (the Voice of Ukraine). The top 10 also included the show Dancing with the Stars and Marry Buzova.
The Mazhor TV series (third season) is the TV series of the year, in the second and third places – School (second season) and Policeman from Rublyovka (third season).
The product of the year is Beyblade. T2 receivers and Ukrzaliznytsia tickets are on the second and third places.
