Russian forces continued to target civilian infrastructure in Donbas overnight Thursday to Friday, Aug. 28-29, using aerial bombs, drones, and artillery, according to local authorities and monitors. Communities in Kramatorsk, Kostyantynivka, and the Sloviansk district bore the brunt of the attacks“At night, at 01:40, the Kramatorsk community came under shelling. Using an FPV drone with a warhead, Russian forces struck the Regional Landscape Park. An administrative building was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” wrote Oleksandr Honcharenko, head of the Kramatorsk military administration, on Facebook.
Meanwhile, local Telegram channel Kramatorsk Guy Writes reported several wounded civilians and widespread damage to apartment buildings in frontline areas.
According to the Telegram channel, In Sloviansk, three people were injured, along with damage to five industrial facilities, four cars, and an excavator. In Lyman, one house was damaged, and in the Kramatorsk community, a cultural site suffered hits. Kostyantynivka saw three civilians wounded, 14 apartment buildings, eight private houses, four administrative buildings, two stores, two utility buildings, nine garages, and two cars damaged.
Damage was also reported in other district settlements, including Novostepanivka, Stepanivka, Novoyavlenka, and Illinivka, where houses, non-residential buildings, and infrastructure were affected.

Donbas remains central to potential negotiations. For Russian leader Vladimir Putin, control of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions is a key goal, both to sell the war as a victory at home and to strategically hold Kyiv vulnerable.
