Another batch of M270 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) from Great Britain has arrived in Ukraine. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, announced this on his Twitter page on July 12.

“Great Britain promised, Great Britain delivered! More M270 MLRS arrived in Ukraine, thanks to [Secretary of State for Defense] Ben Wallace and all the British people! Your support is amazing and so important for Ukraine. The Ukrainian army will skillfully use this ‘replenishment’ on the battlefield,” Reznikov said.

He also added that more “gifts” from Western partners are expected soon.

At a conference in Copenhagen on August 11, Wallace announced that Britain has decided to double the number of M270 MRLS being provided to Ukraine. As such, London is ready to hand over three more launchers, along with ammunition.

According to Wallace, Britain is fully satisfied with the way Ukraine has been using the M270 already provided. This is partly due to the way the Armed Forces of Ukraine can distinguish which targets to hit so that ammunition does not run out quickly.

“Britain and the international community remain opposed to this illegal war and will stand side by side in providing defense assistance to Ukraine, and to help the country defend itself against Vladimir Putin’s invasion,” the minister stressed.

The M270 MLRS is a universal, armored and self-propelled tactical launcher. The first such long-range salvo missile systems arrived in Ukraine on July 14.
