Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones in the early hours of Tuesday, triggering air raid alerts in Kyiv and across multiple regions.

Ukraine’s Air Force warned of the threat of ballistic weapons from the east and later from the northeas, while Kyiv authorities reported enemy drones in Ukrainian airspace.

“Threat of ballistic weapons from the east!” the Air Force said in an alert.

The Kyiv City Military Administration said Russian drones were flying over Ukraine and warned residents to seek shelter. It also reported activity by Russian strategic aviation and launches of cruise missiles from enemy ships.

“Please take care of your safety and use shelters,” the administration said.
