Russian forces struck Kharkiv and Dnipro in the early hours of Tuesday, injuring civilians and damaging buildings as Ukraine faced a broader missile and drone attack across multiple regions.

In Kharkiv, Russian forces attacked two districts of the city, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.

According to Terekhov, an enemy drone hit an industrial zone in the Osnovianskyi district. Another strike was also recorded in the Slobidskyi district.

“As a result of the shelling of the Osnovianskyi district, there are casualties – their number and condition are being clarified. There is a fire at the site of the strike in the district,” Terekhov said.

Strikes came during wider attack on Ukraine

The attacks on Kharkiv and Dnipro came as Russia launched  a broader overnight assault involving missiles and drones.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian forces had launched Kalibr cruise missiles toward Ukraine from the Caspian Sea. The military estimated that the missiles could enter Ukrainian airspace around 2 a.m. and urged residents not to ignore air raid alerts.

Zelensky had warned of new massive strike

The latest overnight attack came after President Volodymyr Zelensky said intelligence warnings about possible Russian strikes remained in force and that Moscow was preparing another massive attack.

Zelensky said Ukraine was treating the reports seriously and that the country remained on high alert.

He also stressed that strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and securing more interceptors remained one of Kyiv’s top priorities.
