Russian forces carried out 26 strikes on Kharkiv in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving people injured and causing fires, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing local officials.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the city’s Kholodnohirskyi district came under a concentrated drone attack, with around 20 strikes recorded within minutes.

“About 20 strikes in recent minutes on the Kholodnohirskyi district, as a result of which fires broke out,” Terekhov said.

He added that there were casualties in the district, but the number of injured and their condition were still being clarified.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, also reported Russian strikes on the Kholodnohirskyi district.

According to Syniehubov, one of the impacts caused a fire in the area.

Earlier, Kyiv Post reported that Russian drones hit two residential buildings in Odesa overnight, while two men were injured in a separate drone attack in Kherson’s Central District. The men were diagnosed with blast injuries, acoustic trauma and acute stress reaction.

The attacks came as Russia continued its nightly drone strikes on Ukrainian cities, frequently targeting residential districts and civilian infrastructure.
