Russian air strikes wounded at least six people across Ukraine overnight, local authorities said, as Kyiv issued an air raid alert in the early hours of Tuesday and urged residents to seek shelter.

The casualties included two elderly people in the Zaporizhzhia region, three people in Sumy and one woman in Kharkiv, according to local officials.

Two elderly people sought medical help after Russian forces struck the Zaporizhzhia district, Governor Ivan Fedorov said. The attack damaged private homes, nearby outbuildings, a service station and a gas station. Fires broke out at residential properties but were later extinguished by emergency workers.

In the northern Sumy region, three more people were wounded late on Monday, Ukraine’s emergency services reported.
