Russian forces attacked the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy with drones on Wednesday evening, injuring a 13-year-old boy and damaging homes, vehicles and an industrial site, regional authorities said.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration said Russian UAV attacks on the regional center continued into the evening, with Ukrainian air defense forces intercepting a significant number of drones before they reached the community.

During the downing of one of the drones, a 13-year-old boy was injured. He received medical assistance, and his life is not in danger, officials said.

Authorities also reported damage caused by falling debris in a residential area and on the territory of an industrial facility. Windows were shattered and several cars were damaged.

Officials said the full consequences of the attack are still being clarified. Residents were urged not to ignore air raid alerts and to remain in shelters or other safe places during attacks.
