The number of people injured in a Russian airstrike on Zaporizhzhia has risen to 12, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

The strike occurred around 4 p.m. Monday. Fedorov said in a Telegram post that “the number of victims requiring medical assistance has risen to 12,” Ukrinform reported.

The Zaporizhzhia city council said 54 people had been examined by medical staff as of 8 p.m. following the strike. Among them were 13 people with disabilities and two internally displaced persons, the council said in its own Telegram update.

Officials said there is currently no reported need for temporary housing for those affected.

Russian forces carried out four strikes on Zaporizhzhia on Monday, according to earlier reporting. A fire broke out at the site of one of the strikes.

The injury toll had earlier stood at seven, including a child, before rising through the day as more victims were examined.
