Russian strikes killed one civilian and wounded at least 21 others across Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions, with eight children among the wounded. 

According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, Russia struck Izium with guided aerial bombs, hitting a private residential area, while a separate missile strike hit Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district. Another drone attack struck a family home in Novhorod-Siverskyi in Chernihiv region.

“In the Shevchenkivskyi district, unfortunately, a 40-year-old man was killed,” Syniehubov said, adding that nine people were injured in the Kharkiv city strike, including two boys aged 7 and 2.

Casualties rose to seven

Initially, the DSNS reported five people injured in the Izium airstrike, including three children. The number of casualties was later updated with three more young victims – an 8-year-old boy suffered blast injuries, and a 16-year-old girl sustained shrapnel wounds, both requiring hospitalization. A 13-year-old girl was diagnosed with acute stress reaction.

Three adults – a 40-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, and a 50-year-old woman – also suffered blast injuries that required hospitalization. At press time, a 66-year-old woman was under medical supervision for acute stress reaction.

Residential buildings were destroyed and damaged, and a fire covering 200 square meters (about 2,152.78 square feet) broke out.

Chernihiv: family struck by a drone

In Novhorod-Siverskyi, an attack drone struck a residential building, injuring a family of five, including three children born in 2009, 2014, and 2019, along with their parents, DSNS reported.

Kharkiv city strike

The missile strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district killed a 40-year-old man and injured nine others, including two children. A 7-year-old boy suffered blast injuries, while a 2-year-old boy was diagnosed with an acute stress reaction. Seven other people were hospitalized.

The strike damaged an educational institution, an administrative building, and commercial infrastructure.

Emergency crews remain deployed at the site, with casualty and injury figures expected to rise as authorities continue assessing the full scope of the attacks.
